Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Data Software Engineer with strong AI knowledge to join a global team. You will design scalable data solutions and collaborate across functions to deliver high-quality, real-time data platforms using Kafka Streams and Flink in an AWS environment.

You will mentor juniors, participate in architecture discussions, and stay current with evolving technologies while contributing to long-term data workflows. Fluency in English (B2+) is required in this role.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant data engineering experience.
• Strong Python and data processing skills.
• Experience with real-time streaming using Kafka/Flink and cloud AWS.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable, maintainable data solutions that align with business and technical objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure deliverables are completed on time and meet quality standards.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, offering input that helps shape the direction of data-focused projects.
• Review code produced by fellow engineers, providing constructive feedback to uphold strong engineering practices.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues that arise throughout the development and data processing lifecycle.
• Support the growth of junior team members by sharing knowledge that strengthens their technical abilities.
• Take part in planning discussions, contributing to scope definition and providing accurate time estimates.
• Stay current with evolving technology trends and apply valuable new approaches to daily work.
• Maintain clear documentation of key technical decisions and data workflows to support long-term system stability.
• Work closely with stakeholders to establish clear objectives and ensure completed work aligns with expectations.
