What you'll be doing

  • Serve as a data strategist to identify and integrate new and existing datasets that can be used throughout product and process lifecycles.
  • Work closely with the data engineers and IT teams in the development of data products to align with organization goals.
  • Complete analytical experiments to assist in problem-solving across various processes and organizations.
  • Develop predictive models, machine-learning algorithms to mine big-data; analyze data, improve models; clean, validate data for quality, accuracy.
  • Ensuring the efficiency of data models through rigorous testing and analysis.
  • Interpret and analyze data for trends and patterns with clear objectives in mind to provide actionable information.
  • Presenting the results and suggestions to relevant parties by using easily understandable visuals and concise reports.
  • Improving data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Data Science, statistics, applied mathematics, IT/STEM or a related field.
  • 8 years experience as a Data Scientist or similar IT role.
  • Ability to provide mentorship to other data scientists on the team.
  • 5+ years of confirmed experience in Pharma and/or Medical Device Industry or other regulatory environment preferred.
  • Advanced coursework in machine learning and programming recommended.
  • Hands-on experience with data science tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with medical devices.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, especially Python and SQL.
  • Strong foundation in statistics, e.g., descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and regression analysis.
  • Machine Learning: Development of algorithms that can learn from and make predictions, e.g., supervised learning, unsupervised learning, etc.
  • Data Wrangling: Cleaning data, preparing data, transforming data using SQL. Familiarity with a variety of databases: Microsoft SQL, Oracle, Snowflake, etc.
  • Data Visualization: Visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, Excel and Python using libraries: Matplotlib, Seaborn, ggplot2, etc.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies like Hadoop and Apache Spark (does not need to be proficient).
  • Adept with the use of cloud services like AWS, Azure.
  • Natural Language Processing: Text processing using techniques such as tokenization, etc., and Python libraries such as NLTK, spaCy, and Hugging Face Transformer, etc.
  • Experience in statistics.
