Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to own and enhance a Snowflake-based enterprise data platform in a regulated healthcare environment. You will lead ingestion pipelines (Fivetran/HVR), orchestrate with Argo on Kubernetes, and build robust dbt models across RAW, CURATED, and CONSUMPTION layers.

Key responsibilities include maintaining data quality, observability, and security, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, and Governance teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Snowflake expertise including data-layer design, warehouse performance, access patterns, and production troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL and dbt for transformation, testing, documentation, lineage, and controlled deployment.
• Experience with Fivetran or HVR and ingestion pipelines.
• Hands-on with AWS data services, especially S3 and ingestion patterns.
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes for orchestration.
• Python for data engineering and automation.
• Strong data modeling, schema evolution, and data quality practices.
• Observability, logging, alerting, and incident-management for production data platforms.
• Lead incident resolution and do root-cause analysis with preventive actions.
• Ability to guide improvements across a complex data platform and mentor engineers.
• Excellent written/spoken English; able to engage with client stakeholders.
• Availability for 9:00 AM–6:00 PM PT and on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Own Data Platform service tower during LatAm coverage window.
• Operate and improve Snowflake production and non-production environments.
• Administer data access with least-privilege controls and audit readiness.
• Manage data ingestion across Fivetran/HVR and custom pipelines.
• Design, build, and maintain dbt models across RAW, CURATED, CONSUMPTION.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake operations and workflows.
• Coordinate Argo Workflows and Kubernetes workloads with Cloud/DevOps.
• Define data quality and observability standards; implement checks.
• Expand monitoring and lineage with tools like SYNQ, dbt, Snowflake audit data, Splunk.
• Lead major data incidents and perform RCA with preventive actions.
• Support Tableau Cloud operations when needed.
• Identify automation and standardization opportunities across the platform.
• Follow service-management workflows and maintain runbooks.
• Mentor mid-level engineers and ensure effective handoffs across teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical incidents outside staffed hours.
