Job Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as part of Integer’s domestic centralized cost accounting function. Senior Accountants have direct responsibility for remote manufacturing sites and project manage global accounting processes. Key deliverables include analytical review of standards, inventories, production variances, FIFO calculations, reserve analyses, account maintenance and reconciliation, and revenue account posting.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Adhere to Integer Values and all safety, environmental, security, and quality requirements, including but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Safety, Environmental and Security Management Systems, FDA regulations, company policies, and other regulatory requirements.
- Perform all cost accounting functions as directed by the Director, Cost Accounting.
- Maintain accuracy of inventory standards, actual quantities, and inventory account balances.
- Coordinate and ensure proper analysis and accounting of significant production variances.
- Manage the preparation and approval of monthly closing entries and cost data schedules supporting the monthly operating statement.
- Update schedules and develop cost factors for semi-annual review of labor and machine rates.
- Design and implement procedures for slow-moving inventory.
- Review gross profits for trends and costing issues.
- Create periodic reports, Key Performance Indicator reports, and other analytical reports.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to ensure accuracy of raw materials and subcontract costs.
- Provide reports and documentation for external audits, including inventory observations.
- Ensure timely completion of monthly close procedures related to gross margin and inventory.
- Document and update group procedures as needed.
- Foster an environment of continuous improvement and best practices in cost accounting.
- Support SOX compliance and internal controls.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred.
- 3-5 years’ experience in cost accounting, preferably in a multi-factory environment.
- 5-8 years’ experience in accounting and/or finance roles.
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to work effectively with different organizational levels, including senior management.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical material clearly.
- Experience with ERP systems, Oracle preferred, and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Knowledge of Lean accounting and public accounting experience are a plus.
