Job summary

Spellman High Voltage Electronics Corporation is seeking a Sr Buyer to plan, schedule, and coordinate finished goods and assemblies across the production cycle. You will work with management to align schedules with customer and company needs, expediting internal departments as needed within a mixed MRP/Lean environment.

The role includes developing strategic plans to improve knowledge and skills in a mid-sized, high-mix multinational engineering and manufacturing setting, while ensuring budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or at least 5 years of experience in the Electronics industry.
• Professional Certifications such as APICS is a plus.
• Experience in Microsoft Word, Teams, Excel, and Outlook required.
• Experience with SharePoint and Glovia a plus.
• Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• An ability to adapt to multiple software systems quickly and efficiently.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus.
• Specializing in the procurement of metal components assemblien and sub-assemblies (enclosures).
• Strong mathematical aptitude to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, total cost and percentages.
• ability to read, analyze, and interpret department procedures, general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.
• Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of the ERP/MRP systems and in-depth understanding of how they work.
• Must have negotiation skills, exhibiting collaborative and creative approaches.
• Good understanding of total cost of ownership and how it applies to decision making.
• General knowledge of electronic components used in the assembly of Printed Circuit Boards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and coordinate finished goods and assemblies throughout the production cycle.
• Develop and execute a strategic plan to support and improve knowledge and skills within a mid-sized, high-mix multinational organization.
• Procure inventory, supplies, and capital goods for production purposes.
• Maintain records of all acquisitions to stay on budget and schedule.
• Release work orders to manufacturing and provide follow-up on materials and scheduling.
• Coordinate with suppliers on pricing and delivery requirements.
• Expedite the delivery of goods and services.
• Provide production schedules to manufacturing departments.
