Job summary

Appsfactory GmbH in Guadalajara, Mexico, is building its first local backend team. You will shape scalable, secure backend systems and connect closely with our central functions to support rapid growth.

You will lead architecture decisions, implement API services in Go or Java/Spring Boot, and work with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) while embracing agile methodologies in a global, diverse engineering environment.

Qualifications

• You hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• You have extensive backend engineering experience with large-scale distributed systems on cloud platforms.
• You are proficient in Go or Java/Spring Boot and SQL/NoSQL databases.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision and lead architecture of scalable backend systems.
• Set patterns and direction for workflows with varying throughput and latency.
• Drive design and optimization of high-throughput data pipelines across platforms.

To build our first team at our brand-new location in Guadalajara, Mexico, we are looking for dedicated Backend Software Developers (m/f/d). You will play a central role in shaping the local workspace, building scalable backend systems, supporting our growing engineering team, and establishing a seamless connection with our central functions.

Your Tasks

• You define the technical vision and lead the architecture and design of scalable, reliable, and secure backend systems handling millions of daily requests across distributed global teams

• You set enterprise-level architectural patterns and the technical direction for workflows with diverse throughput and latency demands, making build-vs-buy decisions while balancing cost, innovation, and long-term maintainability

• You drive the design, build, and optimization of resilient, high-throughput, low-latency data pipelines that combine vehicle data with third-party content across platforms

• You own and evolve the implementation of REST and data-focused APIs and services consumed both internally by platforms and externally by partner ecosystems

• You define data storage strategies and guide the implementation of data warehouse and AI platform solutions while ensuring data integrity, quality, security, and enterprise scalability

• You champion system performance, observability, and reliability by proactively identifying bottlenecks, ensuring SLAs, leading root-cause analysis for critical issues, and optimizing the big data stack

• You mentor and develop engineers at all levels in coding standards, CI/CD, testing, security, and agile delivery, while guiding executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders on backend strategy

Your profile

• You hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or offer equivalent professional work experience

• You bring extensive professional backend engineering experience with a proven track record in leading the design and delivery of large-scale distributed systems and cloud-native architectures on Azure, AWS, or GCP using Docker and Kubernetes

• You demonstrate strong expertise in data warehouse design, large-scale query processing, and stream processing with Apache Flink or Spark Streaming

• You possess extensive experience in API development with Go or Java/Spring Boot as well as SQL/NoSQL database modeling, performance optimization, security compliance, and production system governance

• You have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, and maintaining production-grade systems

• You combine exceptional problem-solving and communication skills with strong familiarity in agile methodologies like Scrum, SAFe, or Kanban

• You have a demonstrated ability to lead projects, deliver strategic impact, mentor engineers, and influence executive as well as global engineering leadership within distributed international teams

• You offer excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to collaborate effectively in international environments
