Job summary

Appsfactory seeks an Android Framework & UI Developer to help build our first team in Guadalajara, Mexico. You will shape the local workspace, connect with central functions, and work on market-specific app behavior using Kotlin/Java, Jetpack Compose, and modular architectures.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Mexico, the US, and Europe, build scalable backends, and participate in modern CI environments while growing your skills as the hub expands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on Android software engineering experience with Kotlin/Java.
• Strong understanding of Android fundamentals (lifecycle, coroutines, background execution, IPC, permissions) and Jetpack Compose.
• Solid understanding of Android framework concepts, tracing requests into platform services, Binder/AIDL, CarService integration.
• Experience with Gradle multi-module projects, Git, automated testing, and CI automation tools.

Responsibilities

• Implement market-specific app behavior, UI components, resources, and service integrations using Kotlin/Java, Jetpack Compose, and modular architecture.
• Work across app/framework boundaries, integrating Android lifecycle, permissions, Binder/AIDL, system services, and Car APIs/CarService.
• Build and maintain CI pipelines, Gradle setups, product flavors, and variant-aware automated testing.
• Test and validate configurations across permission failures, service reconnects, and lifecycle events.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools for code exploration, testing, and CI troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Mexico, the US, and Europe.

Your Tasks

• You implement market-specific app behavior, UI components, resources, and service integrations using Kotlin/Java, Jetpack Compose, and modular software architecture

• You work across app and framework boundaries, integrating Android lifecycle, permissions, Binder/AIDL, system services, and Car APIs / CarService

• You build and maintain reproducible build pipelines, Gradle multi-module setups, product flavors, and variant-aware automated testing within modern CI environments

• You test and validate configurations across permission failures, service reconnects, process lifecycle events, and vehicle sleep/wake cycles

• You leverage approved AI-assisted engineering tools for code exploration, implementation, test generation, and CI troubleshooting

• You collaborate daily with cross-functional app/platform owners, release engineers, and international development teams across Mexico, the US, and Europe

Your profile

• You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or offer equivalent professional practical experience

• You bring 2+ years of professional hands‑on experience in Android software engineering, with strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java

• You demonstrate a solid understanding of Android fundamentals (lifecycle, coroutines, background execution, IPC, permissions) and modern UI toolkits (e.g. Jetpack Compose)

• You possess a clear understanding of Android framework concepts, tracing requests into platform services, Binder/AIDL, and CarService integration

• You have hands‑on experience with Gradle (multi-module projects, product flavors), Git, automated unit/instrumentation testing, and CI automation tools (e.g. Jenkins, GitHub Actions)

• You bring practical experience using AI-assisted coding tools, strong problem-solving skills, and fluent written and verbal English communication
