Nexaminds is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with Python and Java experience to design, build, and scale high-performance backend systems on Google Cloud Platform. The role emphasizes Python-first development with support for existing Java services and AI/LLM integrations.

You will work remotely from Mexico, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure security, reliability, and scalable architecture, while leveraging modern tooling and AI-assisted development approaches.

Qualificações

• 5–8+ years of backend engineering experience with Python
• Strong Python development for scalable backend services and REST APIs
• Java experience to maintain and contribute to existing services
• Experience with Python frameworks (FastAPI/Flask/Django)
• Testing with pytest and reliable backend applications
• GCP and cloud-native architectures
• Designing microservices and distributed systems
• Familiarity with LLMs and AI/ML integration patterns
• GitHub Copilot usage to improve productivity and code quality
• AppSec mindset with vulnerability remediation
• Strong communication and English proficiency

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and deploy scalable backend services and data pipelines using Python on GCP
• Maintain and enhance Java services alongside Python development
• Work with Python frameworks, APIs, and cloud services for reliable backends
• Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into backend applications
• Modernize cloud infrastructure for high availability and scalability
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and code quality
• Identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in codebase and dependencies
• Conduct code reviews and promote best engineering practices with high test coverage
• Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams to deliver high-quality backends
