NTT DATA North America is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and implement production-grade data ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines, plus enhance REST APIs using Node.js, Java, and AWS services. You will work in a remote-friendly setup with CDT overlap, embedding with a cross-functional team to ship code rapidly and reliably.

The role requires 5+ years of backend experience, strong Node.js/Java skills, and hands-on AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD expertise.

Formación

• 5+ years backend software engineering (shipping production code).
• Proficiency: Node.js and Java (17+).
• AWS hands-on experience: Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Kinesis, SQS/SNS, S3.
• Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform; comfortable managing infra in code.
• Data fundamentals: SQL (PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL (DynamoDB).
• Testing discipline: Unit tests, integration tests, CI/CD pipelines, GitLab.
• System thinking: design for scale; cost and latency tradeoffs.
• Code quality: clean, maintainable, well-documented.

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement data pipeline services (ingestion, transformation, delivery).
• Enhance and maintain REST APIs for service integration and external consumption.
• Write clean, testable backend code in Node.js and Java.
• Build event-driven architectures using AWS (Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, S3).
• Set up CI/CD pipeline automation in GitLab.
• Own end-to-end testing strategy (unit, integration, contract, API tests).
• Collaborate with software engineers, platform engineering and product teams on design decisions.
• Deliver working code on a predictable cadence (sprints/iterations).
• Ship features weekly/bi-weekly; maintain production-grade code quality.
