As a Senior Application Technologist II you will conduct flavour application and provide technical expertise to establish successful cooperation with customers, according to our goals and EH&S policies.

You will report to the Applications Manager and will be based in San Angel, Mexico D.F working on-site.

Your main responsibilities will be:

Flavour Application

• Accomplish daily brief-related tasks and apply knowledge during the flavour selection, evaluation and application development
• Lead evaluations of flavours in food applications for briefs, research projects and portfolio evaluations
• Select flavours for projects according to specified requirements (i.e. customer, regulatory, legislation, cost) and suggest improvements for the most common applications
• Identify appropriate flavour delivery systems and technologies for customer projects in specific applications

Knowledge sharing and expertise

• Be the technical expert and advisor to marketing, sales, flavour creation, and customers for specific applications
• Coach, train, and motivate technicians and technologists
• Establish and maintain relationships with a limited number of customers; able to gain their trust and respect

Data maintenance

• Maintain the flavour performance data for the flavour portfolio through evaluation in finished product and capture of profiles
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized lab environment following EH&S policies and hold others accountable for following these guidelines

You - Your professional profile includes:

Academic Background

• B.S. in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or Master's Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology

Professional Experience

• minimum 5 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area

Technical Skills

• Understanding of most food applications, ingredients, and processes with practical experience in customers' food manufacturing environment
• Experience with many of the flavour reactions/interactions in common food products and the ability to recommend flavour modifications based on performance
• Translate market trends into innovative products for main customers
• Supervise and manage technicians and technologists
