Ennovi Group is seeking an experienced Designer/Application Engineer to join the POWER team. You will design and develop high-voltage busbars and connectors for multiple customers, collaborating with CAE, CAD, Test & Validation, and Manufacturing to optimize powertrain solutions.

The role requires a strong background in HV components, prototyping, and hands-on build experience, with travel up to 20% domestically. MS and strong CAD/FEA skills are highly valued.

Formación

• BS in Electro-mechanical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• MS is highly preferred.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, CATIA V5, or NX.

Responsabilidades

• Interact with customers to design BTS HV Power Interconnect for power electronics, motors, and battery packs.
• Design BTS products from concept to production with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Design interconnect components, including busbars, plastics, seals and stampings.
• Collaborate with CAD/CAE, Test & Validation, and Manufacturing teams on new Power Interconnects.

Job Summary

This Designer/Application Engineer position is to join our POWER team at ENNOVI. The POWER team works to design and develop the high-voltage (HV) busbars and connectors for multiple customers. The Power team relies heavily on HV Busbar and connector designs in various systems for powertrain applications like busbars for electric motors, busbars and connectors for inverters/ DC/DC converters, OBC, and battery packs. Also works to collaborate with our ENNOVI CAE, CAD, Test & Validation teams to optimize vehicle solutions.

Main Responsibilities

• Interact directly with customers to execute the design of “Build to Spec” (BTS) HV Power Interconnect for Power electronics, electric motors, and battery packs through the pre-production phase.
• Design and support BTS products from concept to production, working with stakeholders from manufacturing, reliability, test, supply chain, and production.
• Design interconnects components/assemblies, including busbars, plastics, seals and stampings.
• Work closely with Product Manager, CAD/CAE team, Test & Validation, and Manufacturing Process personnel to develop and build new Power Interconnects applications.
• Create design concepts & work with CAD team to generate detailed component/assembly models and GD&T drawings.
• Work with the CAE team to evaluate the Power Interconnects design toward meeting the product specifications. The required simulations are not limited to Joule Heating/Ampacity, Modal analysis, Deformation by CTE mismatch, and Fatigue Thermal/Mechanical analysis.
• Lead cross-functional team to conduct critical design review sessions when needed.
• Drive product compliance testing activities; Own and manage DVP&R and DoE.
• Participate in DFM/DFA review sessions.
• Support Manufacturing team with PPAP, product packaging design and functional in-line testing; evaluate other alternative manufacturing process proposals as needed.

Qualifications

• BS in Electro-mechanical or Mechanical Engineering is required. MS is highly preferred.
• Min 8+ years of relevant experience in the automotive power electronics/ HV connectors/ busbars.
• Proficient in Solidworks , CATIA V5, or NX software.
• Solid understanding of FEA and CFD analysis.
• Experience designing HV parts and systems.
• Hands on prototyping and build experience.
• Experience in DFMEA, GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up analysis.
• Experience in metal stamping, plastic molding, and dielectric materials selection is a plus.
• Ability to work in a collaborative global team environment.
• High attention to detail is strongly preferred.
• This role will require both domestic travel (20% max).
