Luxoft is seeking a Senior Analytics / Reporting Engineer in the Mexico region to architect and optimize enterprise BI solutions using IBM Cognos and Power BI. You will lead design, migration, and deployment while coordinating with onshore-offshore teams on a cloud modernization effort.

The role requires deep BI lifecycle experience, stakeholder collaboration, and strong SQL and dimensional modeling skills across Cognos and Power BI platforms.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience developing enterprise BI and reporting solutions (IBM Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, or MicroStrategy).
• Strong hands-on proficiency with Cognos Framework Manager, Report Studio, Query Studio, dashboards, and administration.
• Demonstrated expertise in dimensional modeling (star and snowflake schemas).
• Advanced SQL capabilities, including query optimization, indexing, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Strong grasp of the complete software and BI development lifecycle, with the ability to work independently.
• Full professional proficiency in written and verbal English to collaborate with global stakeholders.

Responsabilidades

• Gather and analyze reporting needs from business stakeholders, Product Owners, and Business Analysts.
• Design, build, and deploy complex Cognos reports, Power BI dashboards, and ad hoc reporting solutions while supporting platform upgrades.
• Maintain and document Cognos Framework Manager packages using relational and star/snowflake schemas.
• Implement advanced calculations, metrics, drill-through functionality, report bursting, and automated distribution.
• Optimize SQL queries, database performance, and Cognos/Power BI reporting assets.
• Partner with ETL and data engineering teams to validate data flows and resolve data-quality bottlenecks.
• Provide technical guidance to team members, coordinate reporting assignments, and communicate status to leadership.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Analytics / Reporting Engineer with deep expertise in IBM Cognos and Power BI to architect, optimize, and support enterprise-grade reporting solutions. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and data engineering teams, translating complex requirements into scalable dashboards, data models, and actionable insights.

You will also play a pivotal role in driving our cloud modernization and platform migration from Cognos to Power BI. The ideal candidate is self-directed, experienced across the full BI development lifecycle, and comfortable coordinating initiatives within multicultural, onshore-offshore environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Requirements & Design: Gather and analyze reporting needs from business stakeholders, Product Owners, and Business Analysts.
• Development & Migration: Design, build, and deploy complex Cognos reports, Power BI dashboards, and ad hoc reporting solutions while supporting platform upgrades.
• Data Modeling: Maintain and document Cognos Framework Manager packages using relational and star/snowflake schemas.
• Advanced Features: Implement advanced calculations, metrics, query subjects, drill-through functionality, conditional blocks, report bursting, and automated distribution.
• Performance Tuning: Optimize SQL queries, database performance, and Cognos/Power BI reporting assets.
• Collaboration: Partner with ETL and data engineering teams to validate data flows, troubleshoot production issues, and resolve data-quality bottlenecks.
• Leadership: Provide technical guidance to team members, coordinate reporting assignments, and communicate project status and risks to leadership.

Mandatory Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience developing enterprise BI and reporting solutions (IBM Cognos, Power BI, Tableau, or MicroStrategy).
• Core BI Tools: Strong hands‑on proficiency with Cognos Framework Manager, Report Studio, Query Studio, dashboards, and administration.
• Data Architecture: Demonstrated expertise in dimensional modeling (star and snowflake schemas).
• Database Skills: Advanced SQL capabilities, including query optimization, indexing, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Methodology: Strong grasp of the complete software and BI development lifecycle, with the ability to work independently.
• Communication: Full professional proficiency in written and verbal English to collaborate with global stakeholders.
