Luxoft is seeking a Senior Analytics/Reporting Engineer with deep IBM Cognos BI expertise to design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise reporting solutions. You will partner with stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable dashboards, reports, data models, and insights.

The ideal candidate is self-directed and experienced across the full BI lifecycle, coordinating reporting initiatives across onshore and offshore environments. Strong English communication is essential.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience developing enterprise BI and reporting solutions.
• Advanced experience with IBM Cognos Analytics 11.x and earlier Cognos platforms.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Cognos Framework Manager, Report Studio, Query Studio, dashboards, and administration.
• Demonstrated experience with dimensional modeling, including star and snowflake schemas.
• Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization, indexing, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Experience implementing Cognos security, roles, schedules, and report bursting.
• Strong understanding of the complete software and BI development lifecycle.
• Ability to independently translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate reporting assignments and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and recommendations clearly to leadership.

Project description

We are seeking a Senior Analytics/Reporting Engineer with deep IBM Cognos BI expertise to design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise reporting solutions. This position will partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable dashboards, reports, data models, and actionable insights.The ideal candidate is self-directed, experienced across the full BI development lifecycle, and comfortable coordinating reporting initiatives within multicultural, onshore, and offshore environments.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze reporting requirements from business stakeholders, Product Owners, and Business Analysts.Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Cognos reports, dashboards, active reports, and ad hoc reporting solutions.Build and maintain Cognos Framework Manager packages using relational, star, and snowflake data models.Develop complex calculations, metrics, query subjects, drill-through functionality, conditional blocks, and report variables.Implement report security, user roles, scheduling, distribution, and report bursting.Optimize SQL queries, Cognos reports, packages, and database performance.Troubleshoot production issues and ensure reporting availability, accuracy, and performance.Support Cognos migrations, cloud modernization, and reporting-platform upgrades.Work with ETL and data-engineering teams to validate data flows and resolve data-quality issues.Create technical documentation and follow established development, testing, and deployment standards.Coordinate reporting assignments and provide technical guidance to other team members.Communicate progress, risks, dependencies, and recommendations clearly to technical and business leadership.

SKILLS

Must have

Experience with Snowflake and cloud-based analytics environments.Experience with IBM DataStage, Informatica PowerCenter, or comparable ETL platforms.Working knowledge of Tableau, SQL Server Analysis Services, DB2, Oracle, MongoDB, or MicroStrategy.Experience with Motio or similar Cognos deployment and version‑control tools.Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, XML, or Python.Experience supporting Cognos migrations and modernization initiatives.Knowledge of Agile delivery practices and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Kanban, or Scrum.IBM Cognos Analytics or related data and analytics certifications.
