The Senior Fixed Assets Accountant will manage and oversee all activities related to fixed assets accounting for our LATAM entities. This role ensures accurate capitalization, depreciation, asset tracking, and reporting in compliance with GAAP, Local regulations, and internal controls. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, technical accounting knowledge, and experience with fixed asset modules in ERP systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain the fixed asset subledger including additions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments.
  • Monitor and review construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts and timely capitalization.
  • Calculate and post monthly depreciation and reconcile with the general ledger.
  • Ensure proper classification of capital assets.
  • Prepare fixed asset roll-forwards and related disclosures for internal and external reporting.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Procurement, AP, and Project teams to track assets and ensure compliance with capitalization policies.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Analyze asset-related transactions and provide variance explanations.
  • Support audits by providing detailed schedules and documentation related to fixed assets.
  • Recommend process improvements and implement best practices for fixed asset tracking and reporting.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 4–6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years focused on fixed assets.
  • Knowledge of MX/ US GAAP and fixed asset accounting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (WD preferred but not required).
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish required.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
