Job Title: Senior Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to play a pivotal role in financial management, reporting, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to manage complex financial processes. This role involves ensuring compliance with accounting standards, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and enhancing financial efficiency within the organization.

The Senior Accountant will work closely with executive leadership to provide financial insights, drive process improvements, and maintain the integrity of financial data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Management & Reporting: Oversee financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Accounting Processes: Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and local regulations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop financial budgets, monitor performance against budgets, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Accounts Reconciliation: Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger entries.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with tax requirements, including sales tax filings, 1099 preparation, and supporting audit processes.
  • Data Analysis & Insights: Provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions, delivering actionable insights to executive leadership.
  • Process Improvement: Implement financial process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce operational risks.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with external CPAs, controllers, and financial teams to support financial operations and maintain reporting integrity.
  • System Integration: Utilize QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct for financial management and reporting purposes.

Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent accounting certification (Required).
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, with demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Sage Intacct, and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Experience with audit preparation, financial regulations, and regulatory compliance (GAAP, IFRS, SEC requirements).
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, particularly in remote or virtual environments.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet strict deadlines.

Nice to Haves

  • Experience in private equity, real estate, or public company financial reporting.
  • Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS).
  • Background in IPO readiness, M&A transactions, or debt/equity financing.
  • Knowledge of cost segregation, financial analysis, and ERP system integrations.
  • Experience in a fast-growing or multinational organization, with the ability to scale financial processes.
