Apex Systems in Mexico is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and hands-on Workday Financials expertise. The role covers month-end close, general ledger, financial reporting, reconciliations, audits, and cash management. The successful candidate will supervise accounting teams or outsourced providers, drive process improvements, and work independently in a fast-paced environment while ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate financial results.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Minimum 2 years in supervisory leadership.

Responsabilidades

• Manage month-end close and financial statements preparation.
• Prepare and review journal entries and GL transactions.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and cash management.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant with a strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and hands-on experience with Workday Financials. This individual will be responsible for supporting and overseeing key accounting functions, including month-end close, general ledger activities, financial reporting, reconciliations, audit support, and cash management.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a dynamic environment. They will also bring prior experience supervising accounting teams or outsourced service providers and possess the ability to identify process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee accounting operations and outsourced service providers.
• Support the month-end close process, including preparation of financial statements through Workday.
• Prepare, review, and approve journal entries and general ledger transactions.
• Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze financial statements and investigate fluctuations in revenue, expenses, and trends.
• Monitor cash flow, bank balances, and cash requirements.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and process issues.
• Support annual audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
• Ensure compliance with tax, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiency.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to accounting resources and service providers.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience within accounting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Hands-on experience with Workday Financials
• Experience with month-end and year-end close processes
• Financial statement analysis and reporting experience
• General ledger and account reconciliation expertise
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
