A leading construction firm in Mexico is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage financial operations and ensure compliance. This role offers the opportunity to work with multidisciplinary teams and contribute to key projects while supporting the organization's growth and expansion. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, bilingual proficiency, and strong analytical skills.

Formación

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting.
  • Knowledge of Mexican fiscal regulations preferred.
  • Experience in handling audits and tax calculations.

Responsabilidades

  • Supervise general accounting tasks and ensure accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and file federal and state tax reports.
  • Monitor and maintain CUCA and CUFIN calculations.

GOSECO International Executive Search has been selected and exclusively retained to conduct a search for a leading role for a Mexican-based and fast-growing company in expansion mode, that has been delivering world-class construction and consistently measured by quality, safety, and a dedication to total customer satisfaction.

I. Company Overview:

II. Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting financial operations and ensuring regulatory compliance across the company’s business activities. This role is responsible for general accounting, tax compliance, payroll review, budget management, and preparation of financial statements. The successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive attitude in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

III. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform and supervise general accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and file federal and state tax reports including provisional payments and informative declarations.
  • Oversee electronic accounting processes and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Review and analyze payroll calculations and support IMSS-related processes (SUA, IDSE, SIPARE).
  • Prepare and submit DIOT and ISSIF reports as required.
  • Monitor and maintain CUCA and CUFIN calculations.
  • Support external audits and handle requirements from tax authorities.
  • Participate in budget planning and control and generate timely financial reports.
  • Prepare financial documentation for transfer pricing purposes and support fiscal stimulus applications.
  • Create and interpret financial statements for management decision-making.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

IV. Qualifications & Experience required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish with exceptional communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems such as CONTPAQI (Accounting, Banks, Invoicing) and basic familiarity with SAP (preferred).
  • Experience in handling audits, tax calculations, and payroll review.
  • Strong understanding of Mexican fiscal regulations, including hospitality-related taxes (not mandatory).
  • Comfortable using tools like Office Suite, Google Drive, and Dropbox.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

V. Performance measures

  • Accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting, tax filings, and compliance documentation.
  • Effectiveness in budget control and variance analysis, supporting informed business decisions.
  • Compliance with Mexican tax regulations, labor obligations, and external audit requirements.
  • Quality and clarity of financial statements and internal reports delivered to management.
  • Proactive identification of risks or irregularities in accounting records and corrective actions taken.
  • Efficiency in managing multiple accounting platforms and tools (e.g., CONTPAQI, Excel).
  • Responsiveness and collaboration with internal departments, auditors, and external authorities.
  • Continuous improvement initiatives proposed or implemented within the finance function.
