IFF is the global leader in supplying Food Ingredients and Flavors. We are constantly seeking new challenges and developing innovative solutions. We are now looking for a dynamic individual to join our Mexico and Central America Commercial team as a Senior Account Manager.

Responsibilities/Description
  • Understand the specific market and customer ecosystem, including activities, strategies, brands, markets, and consumers, via various sources.
  • Develop multi-level, cross-functional relationships with key customer decision-makers and influencers.
  • Lead or contribute to commercial negotiations (e.g., core listings, annual pricing, payment terms, rebates, cost savings agreements, supply contracts).
  • Maximize advantages for IFF while delivering optimal solutions to customers (e.g., GP improvement, catalog optimization, complexity reduction).
  • Ensure customer supply chain requirements, processes, and KPIs are communicated effectively to IFF Operations.
  • Understand customer regulatory requirements and update data accordingly.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers.
  • Demonstrate IFF Culture Principles and embody our values.
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, onboard new hires, and provide coaching.
  • Influence stakeholders to align on shared objectives.
  • Lead projects through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Align objectives with business goals and personal development plans.
  • Proactively seek and provide feedback to nurture high-performing teams.
  • Show leadership courage by challenging the status quo and ensuring accountability.
  • Develop commercial strategies for assigned customer portfolios.
  • Build and execute account plans successfully.
  • Set clear commercial targets (Sales/GP/New Wins/Market Share Growth) and work towards achieving them.
  • Determine necessary resources, investments, and service models to support accounts.
  • Communicate account plans effectively with stakeholders.
  • Review and update progress against KPIs regularly.
  • Ensure accurate monthly sales forecasts for operational planning and financial analysis.
  • Conduct retrospective reviews on wins and losses.
  • Review briefs to ensure clarity of objectives and parameters.
  • Influence customer brief definitions to benefit IFF.
  • Organize formal commercial kick-offs with stakeholders, finalize action plans, and update project management systems.
  • Coordinate with global, regional, and category stakeholders on strategy and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Flavors Design Group and Creative teams on final submissions.
  • Promote suitable IFF product solutions aligned with briefs.
  • Generate proposals and pricing consistent with category margins.
  • Prepare presentation materials to maximize commercial advantage.
  • Monitor project costs to ensure adherence to guidelines.
  • Communicate project results and conduct reviews.
  • Update project management systems and reports promptly.
  • Manage volume and timing expectations, liaising with Operations for supply readiness.
  • Maintain and grow accounts, actively seeking new business opportunities.
  • Forecast and update sales performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor regional sales performance and provide strategic updates.
  • Implement price increases aligned with regional strategies.
  • Lead internal and external teams to secure project wins.

• Able to work under pressure.

Requirements

Experience:

  • Approximately 5-10 years in sales, sales service, product development, or marketing, preferably in flavors, chemicals, or ingredients industries.

Skills:

  • Customer-centric with B2B management experience.
  • Analytical skills, with understanding of financial concepts such as pricing, margins, and forecasting.
  • Interest in product development, consumers, and market insights.
  • Knowledge or experience in flavors for Beverages, Snacks, Confectionery, Dairy, and Culinary sectors.
  • Creative, innovative thinking.
  • Strong project management, collaboration, and orchestration skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, storytelling, and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of digital marketing and e-commerce environments.
  • Proficiency in business English, with a global mindset and cultural sensitivity.
  • Digital savviness and resourcefulness online.
  • Ability to gather and leverage competitive market intelligence.

Training / Certifications:

  • Essential: Bachelor’s degree.
