As a science and technology research chemist, you will lead impactful research to solve technical and cost-effective problems focused on the development of emulsion polymers, alkyds and polyester coatings.
You will report to a Senior S&T Research Associate.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, direct and conduct research projects to solve technical problems focused on the development of emulsion polymers, alkyds and polyester coatings in a cost-effective manner, generating added value for our customers.
Manage design of experiments for summarizing new coating resins.
Lead industrial scale-up of products developed in the laboratory.
Lead EHS at least one aspect or element as Champion.
Identify opportunities for safety-related improvements.
Develop assigned personnel.
Have knowledge of regulations of the products developed and the coatings where applied.
Qualifications
Master's degree or Ph.D. in Engineering or Chemical Sciences mainly with a specialty in Polymers and/or organic chemistry.
Fluent in English.
Knowledge of programming and modeling of polymerization processes, languages, and design of experiments analysis software.
Proficient in Oracle, Office, and Excel (can perform complex functions).
