seeks an entry-level engineer to support safety-critical tool projects across DTNA Truck Plants. You will help implement tooling, validate torque processes, and follow up on installations while maintaining documentation and databases. The role requires reading engineering drawings, MS Excel proficiency, and Lean manufacturing knowledge, with strong communication and planning skills.

Formación

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOMs, and technical documents.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, and plant support activities.
  • High-level Excel knowledge, including formulas, pivot tables, charts, and data analysis.
  • Mid-level PowerPoint knowledge to create clear storylines and presentations.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Preferred knowledge of torque-controlled fastening systems, DC tools, transducerized tools, safety-critical tooling, or traceability systems; CAD, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, PFMEA, Control Plans, or process validation activities.
  • Experience: Entry-level engineering role or internship in tooling, manufacturing, torque systems, or project experience preferred.
  • English level: B2.
  • Spanish level: C1.

Responsabilidades

  • Support Safety Critical Tool projects for all DTNA Truck Plants, including tooling implementation, torque process validation, installation follow-up, and documentation updates.
  • Coordinate equipment procurement activities including specifications, RFQs, supplier reviews, quotes, installation, and buy-off activities.
  • Apply project management skills and work closely with plants, suppliers, contractors, Maintenance, Quality, Operations, and Corporate Manufacturing Engineering to coordinate projects through completion; maintain and update Safety Critical Tool databases, documentation, process records, and project trackers.
  • Participate in design reviews, drawing/specification reviews, and manufacturing readiness activities to identify safety-critical requirements, DS characteristics, tooling needs, and process risks before plant implementation.
  • Travel to manufacturing plants as required to support launches, equipment installations, and project execution.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and create reports, dashboards, and presentations to support project decisions and leadership updates.
  • Support training and communication efforts related to safety-critical tooling and processes.
  • Identify, analyze, and recommend opportunities to improve safety, quality, torque traceability, process reliability, efficiency, and standardization of safety-critical manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing, tooling, torque, documentation, and process issues at all DTNA plants as they occur.

Objective of the Position

This role will support the development, implementation, validation, and continuous improvement of safety‑critical fastening and manufacturing processes that directly impact vehicle quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, Maintenance, Product Engineering, and suppliers to ensure safety‑critical torque applications are properly designed, installed, documented, and maintained throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Preferred knowledge of torque‑controlled fastening systems, DC tools, transducerized tools, safety‑critical tooling, or traceability systems; preferred knowledge of CAD, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, PFMEA, Control Plans, or process validation activities.
  • Experience: Entry‑level engineering role. Previous internship, co‑op, plant support, tooling, manufacturing, torque systems, or project experience preferred.
  • English level: B2.
