Robotics Research Student Worker / Research Scientist – Adaptive Control for Robotics

About the Job

Intel Labs is seeking a Robotics Research Student Worker / Research Scientist to join its team in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The successful candidate will design, implement, and evaluate new artificial intelligence algorithms for robotics inspired by human-AI interaction. This role requires familiarity with machine learning, deep learning, robot control, and/or natural language processing, along with relevant software frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, implement, and evaluate AI algorithms for robotics.
  2. Explore methods to improve retrieval-based pipelines from complex document metadata.
  3. Apply state-of-the-art principles and theories in AI and robotics.
  4. Collaborate with university researchers and key partners.
  5. Contribute to Intel technologies and scientific publications.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a Master’s, PhD, or postdoctoral program in AI, machine learning, computer science, statistics, electrical engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 1 year of research experience in machine learning, deep learning, or NLP.
  • Development experience in high-level languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
  • Research experience with Large Language Models and understanding of optimization techniques.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
  • Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Publications in top-tier conferences/journals (NeurIPS, ICML, AAAI, ACL, etc.).
  • Over 1 year of robotics research experience.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, MXNet.
  • Research background in Vision-Language Systems and RAG pipelines.
