Nexon Automation in Saltillo, Mexico, seeks a Robotics and Vision Engineer to design, develop, and commission robotic and machine vision systems for the manufacturing sector, integrating industrial and collaborative robots with modern control systems.

The role requires 3–5 years of robotics experience, proficiency with FANUC and KUKA, cobot programming, and knowledge of vision systems. You will support startups, optimize processes, and collaborate with customers and system integrators.

Formación

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related Science discipline.
  • Advanced English language required.

Responsabilidades

  • Design and simulate robotic applications and industrial vision systems per specs.
  • Identify failure modes; implement preventive and corrective measures.
  • Provide technical services on-site or remotely to improve production systems.
  • Program, configure, and commission FANUC and KUKA robots.
  • Develop and optimize robot paths, tools, TCPs, and motion sequences.
  • Integrate robots with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and vision systems.
  • Participate in bin picking, material handling, and pick-and-place projects.
  • Configure 2D/3D machine vision systems; work with Keyence/Photoneo/Cognex.
  • Identify root causes; support startups and validations.
  • Lead process-improvement projects in robotics and automation.
  • Train staff in operation, troubleshooting, and recovery of systems.
  • Coordinate activities with customers, suppliers, integrators.

How do you add value to the role?

The Robotics and Vision Engineer designs, develops, and commissions robotic and machine vision systems for the manufacturing industry based on customer specifications and in accordance with engineering principles, international standards, and industry best practices. Integrates industrial and collaborative robots with modern control systems and automation equipment. Simulates system performance under various operating scenarios and develops process improvement solutions to enhance efficiency, reliability, and overall system performance.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related Science discipline.
  • Languages: Advanced English.
Experience
  • 3 to 5 years integrating industrial robotics applicacions.
  • Experience developing moderately complex robotics applications.
  • Demonstrated experience in robotic cell commissioning and production startup.
  • Knowledge of electrical and machine safety standards for industrial machinery.
Knowledge
  • Programming, commissioning, and servicing of FANUC and/or KUKA industrial robots.
  • Troubleshooting of installed equipment and production line systems.
  • Integration of robots with PLCs and industrial communication networks such as EtherNet/IP and PROFINET.
  • Reading and interpretation of electrical and pneumatic schematics, as well as automation sequences.
  • Integration of sensors, grippers, machine vision systems, and peripheral devices.
  • Experience with 3D vision-guided bin picking. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Keyence, Photoneo, Cognex, Pickit, Mech-Mind, or equivalent vision solutions. (Preferred)
  • Programming of collaborative robots (cobots), including FANUC CRX, Universal Robots, KUKA, ABB, or equivalent platforms. (Preferred)
  • Proficiency with RoboGuide, KUKA.Sim, Process Simulate, RobotStudio, or RoboDK. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of FANUC DCS, KUKA.SafeOperation, or equivalent robot safety systems. (Preferred)
Main Responsibilities

Design and simulate robotic applications and industrial vision systems in accordance with industry standards and customer technical specifications.

Identify potential failure modes and implement preventive and corrective measures integrated into the design of robotic and machine vision systems. Perform risk assessments and machine safety evaluations.

When required, provide specialized technical services either on-site or remotely, locally or at customer locations. These services are primarily focused on improving, supervising, integrating, maintaining, and modifying production systems utilizing a wide range of automation technologies.

Program, configure, and commission FANUC and KUKA industrial robots.

Develop and optimize robot paths, positions, tools, TCPs, coordinate systems, speeds, payloads, and motion sequences.

Integrate robots with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, safety devices, grippers, conveyors, cameras, and peripheral equipment.

Participate in bin picking, material handling, machine tending, pick-and-place, palletizing, and depalletizing projects.

Configure and integrate 2D and 3D industrial machine vision systems.

Work with machine vision technologies such as Keyence, Photoneo, Cognex, or equivalent platforms.

Identify the root causes of issues related to robots, machine vision systems, communications, peripheral devices, tooling, sensors, grippers, and automation sequences.

Provide technical support during production startups, model changeovers, testing, validation activities, and peak production periods.

Participate in process improvement projects involving robotics, machine vision, material handling, and industrial automation.

Optimize cycle times, robot paths, motion profiles, accuracy, repeatability, equipment availability, and system reliability.

Prepare system backups, technical reports, failure analyses, engineering change documentation, and recovery procedures.

Train maintenance, production, and controls personnel in the operation, troubleshooting, and recovery of robotic and automation systems.

Coordinate technical activities with customers, suppliers, system integrators, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
