Job summary

Teradata seeks a Revenue Recognition Accountant to support the global revenue team and ensure GAAP-compliant recording of revenue transactions. You will collaborate across finance functions to maintain accurate documentation and timely reporting.

Responsibilities include analyzing transactions under and over 1M, supporting internal audits, updating tracking tools, and implementing the Teradata Global Revenue Policy with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or related field preferred.
• Strong accounting knowledge and ability to apply policy to transactions.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze and record revenue transactions under 1M to ensure compliance with policy.
• Schedule revenue transactions over 1M according to documentation from regional managers.
• Support internal Audit with requested documents for deals under 1M.
• Ensure documents comply with established policies and assist locations with revenue recognition documentation.
• Update internal tracking tools for revenue recognition reviews.
• Collaborate with Revenue team to develop and operationalize the Global Revenue Policy.
• Demonstrate cross-functional collaboration across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for supporting the global revenue team to help ensure revenue contracts are recognized in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Role requires knowledge of basic accounting principles, pricing policies, legal terminology and documents, deal desk policies, order management process as well as cloud service provider relationships.
  • Review, analyze and record revenue transactions under 1M to ensure compliance with corporate policy
  • Schedule revenue transactions over 1M according to documentation provided by regional revenue managers
  • Work with Internal Audit to provide requested documents to support audit of deals under $1M.
  • Ensure documents are in compliance with established policies
  • Assist locations in completing their revenue recognition documentation and remedying any gaps found in the documentation
  • Update and administer internal tracking tools for review of revenue recognition transactions
  • Work with entire Revenue team to develop, publish, and operationalize the Teradata Global Revenue Policy integrated with Business Operational Processes with Revenue Accounting Guidance.
  • Demonstrate ability to work cross functionally and at various levels across the organization

• Revenue Recognition Managers: Partnership within team to ensure 1M orders processed in Oracle Fusion Revenue Management module and scheduled correctly- guidance as needed for deals under 1M
• Deal Desk Managers: Pre contract award guidance for revenue recognition
• FP&A: Allocations provided for planner forecast and planning calculation of ARR
• Order Management and Services Finance teams
• Region Lead: Training and Support

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance Preferred
• Accounting and Revenue Recognition experience preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts, both written and verbal
• Ability to work across the Company at all levels
• Minimum 2 to 4+ years of related experience
• Strong English communication skills
