Job summary

Ford Mexico is seeking a Restraints D&R Engineer to design, release, and cost-manage restraints components for current and new vehicles. You will coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, release drawings and specifications, and create essential documentation like FMA, DVP&R, and quality records.

The role requires familiarity with FMVSS and regulatory standards, plus strong program management and teamwork. Travel to supplier sites across the US, Mexico, and Canada is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or Equivalent.
• Masters Degree in similar fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, validate, and release Restraints System commodities, subsystems, and components for assigned programs.
• Manage cost targets along with performance targets.
• Monitor suppliers and analyze customer feedback through Ford's systems.
• Incorporate new designs and engineering changes at Assembly Plants and lead discussions with suppliers and involved parties.
• Support suppliers and assembly departments with current production quality and manufacturing issues.
• Support production part approval processes (PPAP) for mass production.
