El Instituto de Investigación sobre la Obesidad busca un Profesor Investigador para liderar actividades de investigación en la prevención y tratamiento de la obesidad en poblaciones mexicanas y latinoamericanas. Se espera que el candidato tenga un historial de publicaciones y habilidades de liderazgo y red para asegurar financiamiento y colaborar en investigaciones interdisciplinarias. Formación

• Historial de publicaciones en revistas de alto impacto (Q1/Q2) en los últimos cinco años.

Responsabilidades

• Desarrollar y liderar investigaciones para prevenir y tratar la obesidad.
• Asegurar fondos externos para la investigación.
• Publicar artículos en revistas Q1-Q2 como Investigador Principal (PI).

Research Professor at the Institute for Obesity Research (IOR)

The Institute for Obesity Research was established to generate forefront knowledge through scientific rigor and analysis, developing ideas and innovative solutions to the problem of obesity through inter- and trans-disciplinary work and creating scientific-technological companies to improve the health and well-being of people and society.

The IOR presents an exciting opportunity for faculty to develop and lead research activities to prevent and treat obesity and metabolic diseases in Mexican and Latin American populations within Tecnologico de Monterrey and beyond. We are comprised by five research units:

• Healthy Foods
• Bioengineering and Medical Devices
• Integrative Biology
• Experimental Medicine and Advanced Therapies
• Public Policy

The Institute for Obesity Research invites ambitious researchers of all seniorities to apply for faculty positions for all units to develop world-class interdisciplinary research at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills, communication and networking skills, a vast network of stakeholders, and an enthusiasm to carry out promising and exciting challenges.

• A substantial publication record in high-impact journals (Q1/Q2) for the last five years
• Advanced level in English language proficiency: CEFR level C1 or TOEFL 600 points. A sufficient level of Spanish proficiency is desirable but not required
• Member of the National System of CONAHCyT Researchers in Mexico or equivalent credentials
• Proven experience in fund attraction, either national or international funding sources
• Preference will be given to people with outstanding leadership potential and commitment to developing an innovative research agenda to produce scientific impact, technology development, and opportunities to establish technology-based entrepreneurship

• Secure external research funds
• Publication of articles in Q1-Q2 journals as PI
• Participation as an advisor in the graduate programs of the Institution
• Teaching 25% of their time in an academic school of the candidate’s discipline at Tec de Monterrey
• Participation in national and international research networks and events

As part of its 2030 Vision, Tecnologico de Monterrey established the Institute for Obesity Research, with particular emphasis on Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship.
