Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Security Operations Analyst to help build and evaluate AI systems for modern SOC environments. Bring real-world threat detection, alert triage, and incident response expertise to shape how AI reasons about security scenarios.

This remote, hourly contract offers 10–40 hours per week on flexible schedules, with opportunities to influence AI security practices and contribute to ongoing projects with global teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in a SOC, incident response, or security operations role.
• Solid familiarity with SIEM platforms, alert triage processes, and investigation workflows.
• Able to confidently distinguish true positives from false positives and background noise.
• Strong written communication skills and clear explanations of reasoning and findings.

Responsibilities

• Analyze SOC incident and alert scenarios to determine what’s happening, significance, and appropriate response.
• Classify alert severity, identify root causes, and recommend remediation or escalation paths.
• Review and evaluate detection logic, investigation workflows, and triage methodologies.
• Validate AI-generated security outputs to reflect real analyst thinking and operations.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI reasoning in security contexts.
• Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule.
