Job summary

AXA seeks a high-caliber Senior Underwriter for Commercial Insurance to evaluate, select, and price complex risks. This fully remote role allows work from anywhere in Mexico, with AXA maintaining a strong presence in the region.

You will analyze complex risks, price offerings, and ensure profitability while adhering to underwriting guidelines. Strong decision-making, deep product knowledge, and remote collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting.
• Proven ability to underwrite complex risks and make sound judgments.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products, policy forms, and regulations.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for remote collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and underwrite complex commercial insurance applications, assessing risks and pricing.
• Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and agents, providing expert advice.
• Adhere to underwriting guidelines, authority levels, and company best practices.
• Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling relevant insurance products.
• Collaborate with claims, legal, and product development teams on risk management.
• Monitor profitability and performance of the assigned book of business.
• Conduct market analysis to stay informed about industry trends.
• Mentor and guide junior underwriters, sharing knowledge and expertise.
• Approve or decline risks within established underwriting authority.
