Job summary

Echelon Risk + Cyber is seeking a Risk Advisory Proactive Incident Response Intern in Mexico City to support client engagements and learn how incident preparation is built and tested.

You will work on plans, playbooks, and exercises, engage with advisory and security teams, and gain hands-on exposure to NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, SIEM/EDR tools, and business continuity concepts.

This internship runs Summer 2027, ~20–25 hours per week, with $15–$20 per hour, and remote-first, multinational collaboration.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Business, or related field.
• Advanced English written and spoken; ability to write procedures clearly.
• Available to work at least 20 hours per week (Mon–Fri, CST).

Responsibilities

• Support development of incident response plans, playbooks, and runbooks.
• Assist with tabletop exercises, scenario research, and facilitator materials.
• Take notes during exercises and help prepare after-action reports.
• Research threat actors and map scenarios to MITRE ATT&CK.
• Support incident response readiness assessments and documentation.
