Job summary

Bluelight, a growing software consultancy, seeks a senior backend-focused software engineer to design and deliver scalable APIs using Node.js/TypeScript, AWS, and PostgreSQL. You will work with a dynamic, client-focused team across US and LATAM markets in a fast-moving environment.

You will contribute to high-quality applications, participate in code reviews, testing, and DevOps tasks, and have opportunities for professional growth while enjoying flexible hours and remote work options.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience (backend-focused).
• Strong experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
• Experience building low-latency API services in AWS.
• Experience building scalable RESTful APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS).
• Experience building secure multi-tenant environments.
• Ability to overlap US business hours.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience with React.
• Strong testing practices including integration tests against real databases and failure-mode testing.
• CI/CD and DevOps practices.
• Meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and other teams to deliver high-quality applications.
• Implement secure, multi-tenant architectures and robust data access patterns.
• Contribute to code reviews, testing strategies, and CI/CD improvements.
