Our client is a fully-remote corporate and commercial law firm based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, empowering founders, startups, and businesses with a comprehensive range of legal services. They leverage legal technology to run a smarter practice, offering the expertise of large firms with the agility of a startup. Their small, close-knit team of 12 (soon to be 13!) prides itself on a culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation, committed to diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities
  • Document Drafting & Review: Draft affidavits, court forms, and other litigation documents.
  • Assist with client onboarding and compliance/Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews.
  • Handle intakes if required, prepare and manage retainer letters, send them out for signature, gather client IDs, and manage DocuSigns to ensure prospects are converted into clients.
  • Other litigation document drafting, review, and maintenance.
  • Digital Organization: Manage our digital systems (folders, files, and other data) and legal software (MyCase, Athennian, Google Drive, etc.) to ensure teammates access clean and tidy records.
  • Accounting Support: Support our Accounting team, follow up with clients on outstanding bills & receivables.
  • Marketing Support: Create and maintain a client CRM, building systems to ensure updated data for existing clients and potential leads.
  • Office Administration: Correspond with benefits providers and bank representatives, assist with other HR concerns.
  • Respond to a wide range of ad-hoc, day-to-day issues.
Qualifications, Skills, and Key Competencies
  • 3+ years of experience in related roles (office administrator, legal administrator, law clerk, paralegal, junior lawyer, etc.).
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Law is a must.
  • Comfort with technology, fast typing speed, and the ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Fluency with MS Office (Word, Excel) and Google Workspace / G Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills with precise attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with outstanding written, phone, and video professional etiquette.
  • Fast output and consistently flawless work, both as an independent teammate and a collaborative partner.
  • Proactive, driven, and eager to take on more responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with (or interest in) legal terminology and processes, particularly in corporate and / or commercial law within a common law legal system.
  • Bonus: Legal Experience – experience as a law clerk / paralegal / junior lawyer.
  • Bonus: Experience in litigation, corporate, or commercial law.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with corporate minute books and other governance records.
  • Bonus: Experience drafting court forms or documents.
  • Bonus: Understanding of the Canadian legal system or similar common law legal frameworks.
  • Bonus: Basic Accounting Knowledge.
  • Bonus: Marketing Experience – CRM management; long‑form blog content writing.
  • Bonus: Relevant Software Experience – Tools like Athennian, Soluno, ChatGPT, DocuSign, and Dext.
