Job summary

Cactus Communications is seeking Editors for the Earth and Environmental Science team on a work-from-home basis under a contractual agreement, renewable upon mutual consent. Work will be available regularly to maintain a predictable schedule.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Environmental Science or related fields, with strong English writing skills and keen attention to detail; prior experience in scientific editing or publishing is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Environmental Science or related field(s).
• Proven ability to critically evaluate scientific content and ensure discipline-specific accuracy.
• Excellent written English and attention to detail.
• Prior experience in scientific editing or academic publishing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit manuscripts to improve clarity, coherence, and readability while preserving authors' meaning.
• Ensure discipline-specific terminology and arguments are accurate for the target audience.
• Improve presentation of complex research findings for publication readiness.
• Edit manuscripts to meet high academic writing standards and format per target journal guidelines.
