BairesDev is seeking a Software Engineer (Database) to develop and optimize core database engine internals. You will design high-performance storage and retrieval systems and contribute to distributed data replication across global teams.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in software engineering focusing on database engine internals.
• Experience with systems programming in C, C++, or Rust.
• Understanding of storage engines, including B-tree/LSM trees and MVCC.
• Experience with replication protocols, WAL, and SQL semantics.
• Strong ability in query optimization and low-level resource management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine core engine components, including storage engines and query optimization logic.
• Implement MVCC concurrency control to ensure data consistency.
• Design and maintain WAL and data persistence layers, with B-tree/LSM structures.
• Engineer distributed data systems by building and optimizing replication protocols.
• Improve ability to handle complex SQL semantics and low-level resource management.
• Collaborate with systems architects to boost performance, scalability, and reliability.
