Formación

About Our Controllership Chapter:

We are producing reliable and traceable accounting and finance information, supporting the company’s growth through a robust, reliable and scalable process with a focus on data and analytics. We are responsible for bringing together all of Nubank’s financial data, monitoring it, making sure that everything is accounted for in our systems. We are also in charge of all the regulatory and financial reports, cash management and financial operations for Nubank.

As a Regulatory and Accounting Specifications Manager, you’ll be expected to coordinate a team which:

• Analyze and understand how the products work in the Mexican market, as well as their respective regulations.
• Analyze and understand IFRS impacts.
• Analyze the financial events and data structure of new products and features and its impacts on accounting, taxes and regulation in order to determine their journal entries and changes in the regulatory reports, according to accounting and regulatory frameworks established by the Mexican authorities.
• Research and analyze technical accounting matters, including the assessment of the impact of new accounting regulation and pronouncements, to ensure the product’s accounting is in compliance with the applicable standards.
• Manage cross-functional activities regarding accounting, reporting and systems-related partnering Product Managers, Engineers, Operations, Legal, Compliance and other stakeholders, from Mexico and other countries where Nu operates.
• Build reports regarding Nu Mexico’s products portfolio, financial insights for internal forums and support on building the local Financial Statements.
• Attend and coordinate activities inside the team in relation to requirements from internal and external audits regarding product’s accounting and regulatory reports.
• Work with the Analytics Engineers and Finance Platform analysts collaborating with specification, design, and implementation of data architecture for building, improving and automatizing processes and controls for the accounting and regulatory matters.
• Proactively identify improvement opportunities and work to implement the solutions designed.
• Be familiar with data management discipline, being capable of supporting the team to develop basic queries for balance sheet and income statement analysis.

We are looking for a Regulatory and Accounting Specifications Manager professional who has:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar.
• Professional experience of 8+ years working in financial institutions.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge including Financial Regulated Entities framework, NIF’s and IFRS.
• Relevant experience preparing product accounting journal entries, accounting reconciliations, and monthly accounting reports, as well as creating internal controls.
• Demonstrated experience with preparation and review of CNBV regulatory reports.
• Ability to tackle complex problems involving a number of topics/variables, such as business, regulatory, operational and product features.
• Strong interpersonal, influence and project management skills with the ability to communicate well with different levels of stakeholders and management.
• Advanced knowledge and use of Excel or Google Sheets.
• SQL knowledge preferred or desire to learn.
• Intermediate English level. Must be comfortable with oral and written communication.

*Interviewing and onboarding are currently done virtually due to COVID-19. Everyone new to the team and our current staff will remain working from home until it is safe to return to our offices. When it’s time, we will require a fixed cadence of visiting the office in which employees go to their Business Unit's (BU) base location. Employees will have an employment contract based on the cities that Nu’s offices are located, considering their country of hire. More details can be shared during your hiring process.
