Luxoft is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Mexico to support automotive component development. The role focuses on 3D modeling, surface design, and product integration using CATIA V5 with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

You will work with global teams to meet customer specs and project timelines, contributing to moldable plastic components and tooling feasibility. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in mechanical design, strong CATIA V5 skills, and proficient English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Good to advanced proficiency in CATIA V5, particularly GSD and Part Design.
• Working knowledge of GD&T according to ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with plastic component design and basic understanding of injection molding.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Advanced English communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Analyze customer specifications and engineering requirements.
• Create and modify 3D components and assemblies using CATIA V5, including GSD and Part Design.
• Design plastic components considering geometry, assembly constraints, and manufacturing feasibility.
• Generate and update 2D engineering drawings according to applicable standards.
• Apply GD&T principles based on ASME Y14.5 and support tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Participate in design reviews and implement feedback from senior engineers and customers.
• Support design feasibility assessments related to injection molding, tooling, assembly, and finishing processes.
• Prepare technical documentation and design justifications.
• Collaborate with optical, electronic, manufacturing, quality, and project teams.
• Support design validation activities and resolve issues identified during development and testing.
• Track assigned engineering deliverables and ensure completion according to project requirements and timelines.

The ideal candidate will have experience with CATIA V5, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and mechanical design principles, preferably within the automotive industry.The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to develop products that meet customer specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.

• - Knowledge of automotive product development processes and design standards

Nice to have

• - Knowledge of mechanical integration with printed circuit boards (PCBs), LEDs, and related electronic components.
