Jobtailor in Mexico is seeking a senior Purchasing professional to develop and implement purchasing strategies, manage suppliers, and negotiate large-volume contracts. The role requires strong knowledge of purchasing in multinational settings, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams while ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley, ISO, and RC14001 requirements.

Fluency in English is preferred. You will oversee budgeting and spend analyses, helping the organization optimize working capital

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Purchasing certification or equivalent required
  • 8-10 years industry-related purchasing experience
  • Strong knowledge of the Purchasing profession within multinational industry
  • Strong understanding of contract language terms and conditions and contract design
  • Understanding of the marketplace relating to a particular portfolio of goods and services
  • Solid understanding of business issues and financial principles
  • Computer skills and knowledge of office and purchasing applications
  • Full understanding of purchasing and inventory systems and interfaces with Finance, project, job costing, planning and forecasting
  • Effective verbal and written communication in the local language and English
  • Ability to articulate ideas convincingly, negotiate contracts and solutions to complex problems, provide feedback and direction, make presentations and address varied audiences
  • Leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Responsabilidades

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies incorporating contracts, purchasing tools, and supplier management techniques
  • Identify opportunities, aggregate and standardize goods and services, leverage purchasing power, and optimize working capital
  • Develop strategies, select purchasing tools, and validate them with users
  • Select suppliers and negotiate large-volume contracts at local, regional, or global levels
  • Communicate, implement, and execute purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Share information and best practices within Purchasing and communicate with inter-related Cabot groups
  • Ensure development and review of market intelligence for assigned goods and services portfolio
  • Assemble, participate in, and potentially lead cross-functional user teams
  • Potentially manage or lead Purchasing staff within a region
  • Coach and develop direct and matrix reports and align with matrix functions
  • Provide input to department budget development
  • Review commodity spending reports and trend analyses against goals
  • Recommend and implement changes to achieve cost reductions and efficiencies
  • Ensure compliance with Purchasing Ethics, Sarbanes-Oxley 404, ISO and Corporate Standards, Values, audit rules, and laws
  • Build and maintain positive business relationships with suppliers and users
  • Support implementation and maintenance of the Responsible Care® Management System in line with RC14001® requirements, as applicable
