UN Secretariat in Mexico City seeks a Social Affairs Officer to conduct in-depth analysis of social development issues, design evaluation methods, and advise on policy implementation. You will liaise with governments and NGOs, organize technical meetings, and prepare comprehensive reports and cooperation documents at the ECLAC Mexico Subregional Office.

The role requires a Master’s degree in a social science field and at least five years of progressive experience in socio-economic development,

Formación

• Advanced degree in sociology, economics, public policy, development studies, or related social science field.
• Five years of progressive experience in socio-economic development, policy analysis, or sociological research.
• Experience in Central America, Mexico, Cuba, Haiti, or the Dominican Republic.
• Experience delivering technical assistance on social policy design, planning, or implementation.
• Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Research and analyze social development issues at global, regional, national, and subnational levels.
• Develop indicators and methodologies for evaluating topics and provide policy advice.
• Liaise with government officials and representatives of various organizations.
• Plan, organize, and service technical meetings; prepare inputs for reports.
• Prepare reports, studies, and technical cooperation documentation; monitor project implementation.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and perform administrative tasks.
