Manager/Specialist, GIPS Composite Management

Experience Required: 5-8 Years

Position Description
Seeking a manager/specialist to assist with all aspects related to composite management and GIPS compliance support. The core function of the role involves implementing the firm’s policies & procedures as it relates to compliance with the CFA Institute’s Global Performance Presentation Standards (GIPS). This role will interact with various groups across the firm including Portfolio Management, Client Management, Product Strategy, Business Development Services, Marketing, Legal and Technology in a fast-paced, high energy, and demanding team-oriented environment. Seeking candidates who are results-driven, innovative and adaptable with strong project management skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Facilitating composite construction and maintenance in StatPro
  2. Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of composite membership and calculations
  3. Understanding of various types of performance calculations and statistics
  4. Interpret investment guidelines to translate into composite construction rules
  5. Researching and resolving monthly performance outliers
  6. Preparing and reviewing annual GIPS Composite Reports
  7. Documenting processes and ensuring adherence to established GIPS policies & procedures
  8. Supporting the firm wide verification process through compiling requested supporting documentation
  9. Reviewing standard presentations or marketing materials where composite information is included
  10. Liaise with internal client facing teams to address ad-hoc GIPS and composite data requests
  11. Proactively drive improvements across various performance reporting processes
  12. Perform user acceptance testing and validation for system upgrades/enhancements
  13. Training/education across the firm on GIPS compliance and requirements
  14. Support outsourcing initiatives and vendor relationships

Position Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Mathematics
  2. Minimum of 5 years of GIPS or performance analytics experience
  3. Strong analytical, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
  4. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey complex data in a concise manner
  5. Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and produce high quality, accurate work in a time sensitive manner
  6. Self-starter that can work collaboratively and independently while managing multiple projects, assignments and/or responsibilities
  7. Strong project management skills (e.g., defining scope, setting project timelines and milestones, managing responsibilities of concurrent work streams/projects, driving completion of deliverables, identifying risks, managing issues, and addressing stakeholder expectations)
  8. Manage deliverables effectively, ability to manage expectations with business partners and prioritize urgent tasks
  9. Strong process-orientation with a client-servicing mind-set
  10. Demonstrated understanding of Fixed Income and Alternative investment strategies
  11. Advanced analytical and data management skills (Excel usage, Macro writing, Database queries, etc.)
  12. CIPM designation preferred
