ZF Group in Monterrey seeks an experienced R&D Traffic and Logistics Lead to orchestrate cross-functional logistics for equipment, prototypes, and materials. The role interfaces with R&D, logistics providers, customs, and corporate teams to ensure compliant, cost-effective transport and KPI-driven performance.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in traffic/logistics, deep customs knowledge (OEA/C-TPAT), and proficiency in SAP and MS Office, with excellent English and Spanish communication and strong

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in International Commerce, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of traffic and logistics experience in fast-paced environments.
• Deep understanding of customs regulations, international trade requirements, and certification programs (OEA, C-TPAT).
• Experience managing logistics carriers, customs brokers, service providers, and transportation management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and SAP; ability to analyze logistics performance for decisions.
• Fluent in English and Spanish with strong communication and stakeholder management.

• Assign optimal logistics routes and monitor transit to meet terms and KPIs.
• Create, update and ensure compliance with procedures and regulations; review annually.
• Support traffic certifications such as OEA and C-TPAT with HR.
• Define quality parameters for time and service with transport partners.
• Inform internal stakeholders about arrival times and dates at locations or customer sites.
• Control special freight expenses with proper formats and approvals; execute related projects.
• Serve as the Monterrey R&D traffic liaison to corporate stakeholders overseeing logistics activity.
• Develop KPI and capacity metrics to forecast future needs.

The R&D Traffic and Logistics team plays a critical role in enabling engineering and laboratory operations by ensuring the timely and compliant movement of equipment, prototypes, samples, and materials across national and international locations. The team serves as the key interface between R&D Monterrey, logistics providers, customs agents, and corporate stakeholders, supporting innovation projects through efficient transportation and customs management. With a strong focus on compliance, operational excellence, and continuous improvement, the team drives logistics performance through KPI management, process standardization, and strategic supplier collaboration.

What you can look forward to as R&D Traffic and Logistics Lead:

• Assign the best logistic route to transport the goods according to the user requirements. Maintain close track during transit and ensure adherence to the agreed terms and conditions agreed by purchasing. Taking care of the logistic costs and KPI compliance.
• Create, update and ensure compliance to the position related procedures, policies and regulations, Review for improvement annually
• Ensure compliance to traffic requirements and provide support for the certifications (OEA and C-TPAT) acting as support for HR
• Define Quality parameters for time and service quality with transport companies, to fulfill the objectives by the service suppliers
• Inform opportunely to the internal stakeholders all related to time and dates of arrival to the location or to the customer site.
• Control the expenses for the special freights with the proper formats and authorizations Execute and track special projects in the logistic and traffic area.
• Define and cover for Monterrey R&D all traffic and logistic needs, and being the point of contact between R&D Monterrey and the corporate stakeholders who support the logistics and traffic activities in the country and in other locations
• Develop performance KPI and capacity parameters that can indicate the future needs to be planned.

Your Profile as R&D Traffic and Logistics Lead:

• Bachelor’s degree in International Commerce, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• More than 5 years of experience in traffic and logistics within fast-paced and highly dynamic organizations.
• Deep understanding of customs regulations, international trade requirements, and certification programs such as OEA and C-TPAT.
• Proven experience managing logistics carriers, customs brokers, service providers, and transportation management systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and SAP, with the ability to analyze logistics performance and support operational decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, combined with a high level of integrity, compliance awareness, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience developing logistics KPIs, capacity planning metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service, cost, and operational efficiency.
• Preferred: Experience leading or building logistics and traffic organizations, supporting engineering or R&D environments with high-volume equipment and prototype shipments, particularly within the automotive industry.
