Job summary

ABB in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico, is seeking a Technical Product Manager-level engineer to own advanced transformer design challenges in a remote, R&D-driven role. You will contribute to technology, product development, IP generation, and corporate knowledge sharing within the Transformers business line.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in electrical design, strong industry standard knowledge, and fluency in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electromechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably transformer design and development.
• Strong knowledge of UL, CSA, NEMA, IEEE, and IEC standards.
• Experience using simulation software for transformer design and analysis.
• Advanced English and Spanish communication skills.
• Availability to travel as required.
• Customer-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in manufacturing processes, transformer assembly, and test report interpretation is desirable.
• Valid U.S. visa and passport are preferred.

This position reports to:

Technical Product Manager

Your Role: Own the Challenge

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to technology, product, and solution development, as well as related Intellectual Property (IP). You will serve as the first point of contact within Research & Development for specific product-related issues and maintenance activities. You will also leverage your expertise to identify, propose, and implement innovative solutions that drive business success.

The work model for the role is: Remote

This role is contributing to the the ELSB Transformers Business Line based in Nogales.

Key Responsibilities
