Provide engineering support as a R&D Engineer to the Design/Detail department as well as the Engineering Department.
- Analyze product designs structurally to evaluate whether or not structural requirements are met.
- Give the Design team clear direction on necessary design alterations to finalize the structural design of all Alliance Air Products equipment.
- Specify lifting lug locations for each type of Alliance Air Products equipment.
- Communicate directly with third-party structural engineering firms to ensure that structural concepts are developed in the best interest of Alliance Air Products.
- Evaluate drawings and details to confirm that all structural requirements are met.
- Support Engineering with interpreting and developing structural analysis to meet client needs.
- Assist production supervisors with structural interpretation and correction methods if constructability issues occur.
- Communicate directly with clients on matters concerning structural analysis.
- Understand relevant codes and national standards related to structural design.
- Interpret and verify specification requirements related to structural components and design.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Good documentation and communication skills.
- Vision for success and ability to develop other quality staff members.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects, people, and functions.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or other 3D software.
- Experience performing Finite Element Analysis on piping and structures.
- B.S. degree in Civil or Aeronautical Engineering.
- Minimum of two years of applied experience.
