Responsibilities
  • Coordinate, assign, and review inspection activities with optical and tactile measuring instruments (3D CMM, profilometer, roughness meter, etc.) and First Article Inspection (FAI).
  • Provide guidance and training to less experienced employees on measurement activities.
  • Provide technical system support for development of inspection methods and their software; support calibration and metrology activities.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on measurement techniques/methodologies at the site.
  • Conduct FAI, FIR, test reports, and inspections (incoming, in-process, and final).
  • Establish CMM programs, release, and control according to internal procedures.
  • Support New Product Introduction and Design Transfers at the site; participate in validation activities (CSV, TMV, Gage R&R, etc.).
  • Review reports concerning workmanship defects and other quality issues; perform complex tests and analyses to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform varied product inspections (finished goods, components, incoming materials, or new products) by observing, measuring, and recording data.
  • Maintain regular inventory cycle counts related to quarantine areas and prepare documentation showing test results.
  • Serve as principal Subject Matter Expert for GD&T and measurement methodologies; formulate and prepare corrective actions and remedial recommendations.
  • Prepare statistical reports on 3D CMM quality control results for management; provide and supervise training on optical and tactile measuring instruments.
  • Compile and input data, document findings, interpret results, and implement revisions to test equipment, procedures, and methods.
  • Issue and execute NCRs within software; own actions from quality systems (NCR, CAPA, Audit Observations).
Qualifications
  • Experience with coordinating and performing inspections using optical and tactile measuring instruments, including 3D CMM, profilometer, roughness meter, and related tools.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and measurement methodologies; ability to act as a SME at the site.
  • Experience with FAI, FIR, test reports, and various validation activities (CSV, TMV, Gage R&R) is preferred.
  • Ability to train others and provide technical support for inspection methods and software.
  • Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills; capability to prepare statistical reports and remedial recommendations.
