Mergon Group in Mexico is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead quality assurance and control across assigned production areas. You will drive a culture of quality ownership, mentor technicians and inspectors, and ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards.

You will coordinate corrective actions, perform root-cause analyses and support new product launches with APQP/PPAP processes, while partnering with Production and Engineering to reduce defects and improve process capability.

Formación

  • Degree or Diploma in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a quality leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and automotive customer quality requirements preferred.
  • Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC and Control Plans.
  • Experience leading corrective actions using 8D, A3 or similar methodologies.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and quality management tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication and coaching skills.
  • Proficiency in quality reporting and data analysis.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead and supervise all quality assurance and quality control activities within the assigned production area.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements, IATF 16949 standards and internal quality management systems.
  • Promote a culture where quality is built into the process and owned by all employees.
  • Manage and develop Quality Technicians and Inspectors to ensure effective quality support across all shifts.
  • Monitor key quality metrics including PPM, scrap, rework, customer complaints and internal defects.
  • Lead GP 12 inspection, containment activities and rapid response to quality incidents.
  • Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of Control Plans, PFMEAs, Work Instructions and Inspection Standards.
  • Coordinate customer complaint investigations and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support APQP, PPAP and customer approval activities for new product launches.
  • Review and approve quality documentation and inspection records.
  • Ensure calibration and control of measurement equipment.
  • Analyse quality performance data and identify trends for improvement.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering and Maintenance teams to improve process capability and reduce variation.
  • Ensure non-conforming materials and products are properly identified, segregated and controlled.
  • Support supplier quality activities and supplier issue resolution.
  • Participate in risk assessments and change management activities.
  • Deliver quality training and strengthen quality awareness across manufacturing teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects focused on defect prevention, waste reduction and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present quality performance reports to site leadership.

What’s the job?

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for ensuring products and processes consistently meet customer, regulatory and Mergon quality requirements. The role provides day-to-day leadership to quality technician and inspectors while driving a culture of quality ownership, defect prevention and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise all quality assurance and quality control activities within the assigned production area.
