Overview
The Quality Supervisor will lead the efforts for process quality and customer quality. Monitors adherence to plant quality system and will be a driving force in reducing defects and customer returns. Additionally, the successful candidate will be a strategic thinker able to quickly identify continuous improvement opportunities and work cross-functionally to implement them. This innovative leader will manage thequality technicians/inspectors ensuring they meet company standards and strategic objectives
Responsibilities
- Work on complex and innovative projects to reduce internal and external quality issues
- Provide technical support to define inspection techniques, test procedures, equipment development and training
- Prepare quality documentation such as control plans, PFMEAs, inspection plans, test procedures, etc.
- Diagnose quality problems (field, vendor’s site and manufacturing plant), develop solutions, and monitor corrective action implementation and effectiveness
- Maintain and continually improving the quality management system in the areas assigned with a “risk management” approach
- Assure compliance to company procedures, policies and most current revision of ISO 9001 standard
- Participate in new product development (NPD) to ensure all customer requirements are met and the manufacturing process is robust
- Oversee NPD builds to ensure process controls are in place and effective
- Lead and/or participate in supplier audits and qualification process
- Manage and develop quality personnel
- Analyze results and recommend solutions to complex product and process quality problems
- Work with engineering and manufacturing staff, equipment manufacturers and vendors to develop solutions and implement preventative measures to address product and process quality problems
- Develop testing methodologies and equipment including precision computerized measuring devices and statistical control techniques
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electric or other technical discipline
- 10+ years of quality experience with a minimum 3 years in supervision
- Skilled in project management and handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Experienced with incoming inspection and supplier interaction
- Strong statistical knowledge
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Self-sufficient and thrives in a team environment
- Ability to influence and lead others, a change agent
- Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
- Bilingual English/Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Pareto analysis techniques, Gage R&R, Control Plans and FMEA
- Skilled in the use of word-processing, spreadsheet, and database computer programs
- Enthusiastic, hardworking, results oriented with a can-do attitude, working towards career advancement
- Effective at multitasking and time management
- Experience in new product introduction process
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in high volume manufacturing industry / Lean manufacturing orientation and/or 6Sigma
- MBA or MS degree in related field
- Experience with implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM)
- 3 to 5 years in a leadership position as a quality supervisor or manager in a high-volume manufacturing organization
- Experience in the use of InfinityQS
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9000-2015 version.
