Vertiv Co. seeks a Quality Engineer to collaborate with the Quality Manager and plant teams to maintain and improve systems for product and process quality.

You will supervise technicians and coordinate corrective and preventive actions, driving improvements across manufacturing operations in Reynosa, Mexico. The role requires a four-year engineering degree with QA experience, bilingual English/Spanish, and strong knowledge of ISO 9000 and core quality tools.

Formación

  • Engineering degree (4 years) with QA experience.
  • 3+ years in Quality Control & Assurance.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required.
  • Familiar with assembly/manufacturing processes and drawings.
  • Proficient in MS Office; advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 and core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SCP, MSA).
  • Ability to work in a large global corporate structure.
  • Problem solving with a proactive, results-driven approach.
  • Experience with statistical quality methods and QC systems.
  • Electrical schematics knowledge a plus.
  • Six Sigma or related quality certifications desirable.

Responsabilidades

  • Develop and maintain systems establishing activity and product standards.
  • Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against standards.
  • Monitor performance and communicate actions per standards.
  • Integrate external standards into internal quality management systems.
  • Communicate quality improvements across departments.
  • Report changes in standards and performance against standards.
  • Liaise with quality bodies (ISO, TL, govt, HSE).
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on quality issues.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in cross-functional product/process teams.
  • Develop quality and inspection plans using statistical techniques.
  • Lead continuous improvement programs.
  • Demonstrate ethics and integrity; communicate effectively.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Engineer will work closely with the Quality Manager, Plant Managers, and hourly employees to maintain and improve business systems. The Quality Engineer may Supervise, Quality Technicians, Auditors, Documentation, Test, etc. The Quality Engineer will be responsible for plans, implement and coordinate applicable Corrective, Preventive and Technical controls of Processes and Products as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain systems to establish standards relating to activities and products.
  • Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards.
  • Monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels.
  • Monitor and inform/communicate/apply standards created/maintained by external bodies and integrate within internal quality management systems.
  • Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across all departments.
  • Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards.
  • Liaison with quality management and standards bodies (e.g., ISO, TL, Government Departments, HSE, etc.).
  • Liaison with customers and suppliers where necessary (where impacting/affected by quality issues).
  • Assists in the identification of root cause and develop/implement effective corrections and preventive methods.
  • Participates in Product and Process development teams as applicable. Actively participates in Cross Functional work teams.
  • Assists In the development of Product / Process Quality and Inspection plans, to include the application of Statistical Techniques, for the detection and reduction of errors, and the monitoring of critical to Quality processes.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A four-year degree in Engineering or a related field of study plus a minimum
  • 3 + experience on Quality Control & Assurance area.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required (read, write, and speak).
  • Familiar with Assembly and Manufacturing processes, Engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to work in a large, global corporate structure
  • Self-starter. Ability to solve problems, take responsibility and deliver results with a spirit of innovation and strong commitment to excellence.
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office Software – advanced Excel skills required.
  • Desirable experience using MRP or Enterprise systems in Manufacturing.
  • Familiar with electrical schematic a plus
  • Knowledge of Quality Improvement methodologies and related statistical tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of formal Quality System standards such as the ISO 9000 series of requirements.
  • Knowledge of Core Tools APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SCP & MSA
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • ASQ Certification in Quality Engineering is preferred

  • Six Sigma certifies desirable.
