A global leader in musical instruments is seeking a Quality Engineer in Ensenada, Mexico. The successful candidate will ensure product quality through collaboration with Engineering, R&D, and Quality teams, develop quality management systems, and analyze quality metrics. Applicants should have a BS degree in Engineering and 1-3 years of relevant experience in the maquiladora industry.

Formación

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in the maquiladora industry as a quality engineer.
  • Knowledge of FMEAs, control plans, statistical tools, SPC, PDCA, 8D methodology, 5S practices.
  • Experience in a high-mix manufacturing environment.

We are searching for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Ensenada, Mexico. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the parts and products produced at Fender Ensenada meet all customer expectations. It is a quality expert and hands-on position that acts quickly and effectively when non-conformances are found.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with Engineering, R&D, and Quality teams to determine critical features of the product. Make recommendations to modify parts specifications and tolerances as necessary.
  • Participate in PFMEA definition with manufacturing, engineering, and continuous improvement teams.
  • Conduct statistical analysis for process and product (pareto, histograms, DOE, trend charts).
  • Develop, implement, and improve Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, supporting the launch of new products, processes, and services.
  • Analyze organizational quality metrics, perform periodic reviews, and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of quality assurance training programs and conduct training on quality-related topics.
  • Coordinate activities of process auditors and inspectors.
  • Manage third-party audits for regulatory certifications (TUV, CCC, CSA, NEMKO).
  • Lead corrective and preventive action plans with manufacturing and engineering teams.
  • Follow up on customer complaints.
  • Create inspection plans for components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Prepare first article inspection reports for new parts.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Required: BS degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in the maquiladora industry as a quality engineer.
  • Knowledge of FMEAs, control plans, statistical tools, SPC, PDCA, 8D methodology, 5S practices.
  • Experience in a high-mix manufacturing environment.
  • Desirable: Six Sigma projects, Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
  • Knowledge of project management is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Minitab, Microsoft Office, SAP applications.
