Job summary

Pellera Technologies Mexico is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to create and maintain a runbook of automated and manual tests and select test subsets for different stages of software feature delivery. You will collaborate with SMEs to define tests, with SWEs to extend test harness automation, and with SREs to integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.

You will help identify test coverage, automate where feasible, and translate test results into actionable tickets to drive defect resolution.

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable 4 years of experience.
• 12–15+ years of experience in IT services or managed services environments.
• Extensive leadership experience managing global teams and operations.
• Proven track record of driving business growth and service excellence.

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Engineer role creates and maintains a runbook of automated and manual tests and determines which subsets of tests to perform based on the different stages of software feature delivery. This role will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to define and vet the tests; with Software Engineers (SWEs) to extend our test harness to automate, when feasible, those tests; and with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to incorporate those tests into our Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

Essential Functions:

• Identify and formalize test scenarios to create a holistic test coverage.
• Maintain a runbook of scenarios run for different contexts (e.g., deployed to staging, preparing for production release, nightly regression)
• Continuously improve our testing ecosystem, favoring automation when feasible and practical.
• Collaborate with SMEs to ensure holistic test coverage.
• Integrate test scenarios into our evolving test harness.
• Analyze test results, converting failures into actionable tickets that seek the resolution of defects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable 4 years of experience.
• Experience with testing frameworks like Selenium or Cypress, or demonstrated ability to learn
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or Swagger, or demonstrated ability to learn
• Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g. Elixir, JavaScript, Golang)
• Experience with version control (e.g. Git)
• Demonstrable understanding of test design, exploratory testing, and bug life-cycle management.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 12–15+ years of experience in IT services or managed services environments.
• Extensive leadership experience managing global teams and operations.
• Proven track record of driving business growth and service excellence.
