Mastercard Inc. in Mexico City seeks a Quality Engineer II to join our payments technology team. This hands-on role focuses on building scalable automated tests and supporting cloud-native delivery in an agile, microservices‑driven environment.

You will design test strategies, implement automation with Selenium, Playwright, Karate, or Rest Assured, and help maintain CI/CD pipelines, performance tests, and quality gates, working closely with product managers and engineers.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in software testing or test automation.
• Familiarity with Agile development and microservices architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with one or more automation tools: Selenium, Playwright, Karate, Rest Assured.
• Basic understanding of performance testing tools like JMeter.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, and containerization tools like Docker.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills, fluent English is a must.
• Eagerness to learn, grow, and contribute to quality engineering excellence.

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, Playwright, Karate, or Rest Assured.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and test environments.
• Execute functional, regression, and API tests to ensure product quality.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Support performance and resilience testing using tools like JMeter.
• Contribute to BDD/TDD practices and help maintain quality gates using tools like SonarQube.
• Document test results, defects, and provide feedback to improve product quality.
• Stay updated with emerging testing tools and practices and apply them as appropriate.

Overview In addition to our traditional payments portfolio, Mastercard is aggressively expanding into new payment flow and leveraging the digital and connected world of people and economies to deliver faster, reliable and more efficient propositions to make payments – send or receive money. The Cross Border program is part of the wider Disbursement & Remittances business that we are looking to expand at a compounded rate of 50% per year for the next 5 years. We are building solutions to enable payments in an any-to-any format – anyone, anywhere can send or receive money using any channel – money exchanges, banks, digital wallets, cards or fintech apps – providing a seamless and unified experience for both individuals and business to move money. We are looking for a passionate, innovative and experienced engineers with a proven track record in leading the evolution of software products and their implementation in various markets – comfortable both working hands‑on as well as guiding and mentoring a team of engineers and critically always challenging the status quo and pushing and driving the technology roadmap to ensure that the solutions leverage technology to the maximum extent

Role
