The ideal candidate has strong Java/Spring Boot skills, experience with containers and CI/CD, and thrives in a collaborative, Agile environment across multiple geographies.

Formación

Overview

In addition to our traditional payments portfolio, Mastercard is aggressively expanding into new payment flow and leveraging the digital and connected world of people and economies to deliver faster, reliable and more efficient propositions to make payments – send or receive money.

The Cross Border program is part of the wider Disbursement & Remittances business that we are looking to expand at a compounded rate of 50% per year for the next 5 years. We are building solutions to enable payments in an any-to-any format – anyone, anywhere can send or receive money using any channel – money exchanges, banks, digital wallets, cards or fintech apps – providing a seamless and unified experience for both individuals and business to move money.

We are looking for a passionate, innovative and experienced engineers with a proven track record in leading the evolution of software products and their implementation in various markets – comfortable both working hands-on as well as guiding and mentoring a team of engineers and critically always challenging the status quo and pushing and driving the technology roadmap to ensure that the solutions leverage technology to the maximum extent

Role

The Software Engineer I is an engineer specializing in Java development and microservices architecture. This role independently develops scalable, cloud-ready applications while contributing to software design, operational excellence, and production support.

Responsibilities:

• Full Stack Developer in Java for development initiatives
• Strong technical skills in Java and Spring Boot Framework.
• Experience with Cloud technologies is an added advantage.
• Experience with RDBMS or cutting-edge database technologies is desirable.
• Coordinate with various groups within Mastercard to ensure successful project delivery.
• Drive automation, CI/CD, and quality engineering initiatives.
• Handle coordination across teams located in multiple geographies

All About You

• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Containers (PaaS).
• Solid experience as a Developer in Agile projects.
• Knowledge of product development across the full stack, including Database, Messaging, UI, and Reporting.
• Experience in Online/Real-Time and Batch application development.
• Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD).
• Actively involved in quality engineering initiatives.
• Result-oriented individual with strong automation expertise and focus on code quality.
• Experience with Kubernetes is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, fluent English is mandatory.

Work location: Mexico City.
