A leading company in Tijuana is seeking a Purchasing Manager to oversee the procurement process and vendor management. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in manufacturing, strong negotiation skills, and relevant certifications. This role is crucial for ensuring timely delivery of resources and aligning purchasing strategies with company goals.

Formación

  • Over 10 years of experience in manufacturing industries managing and procuring materials.
  • APICS CPIM Certification and ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification.
  • Experience with Incoterms, trade & compliance.

Descripción del empleo

Manage the purchasing process including requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment. Draft, explain, and implement instructions, policies, and procedures for purchasing and contract management. Evaluate and approve conditions for issuing and awarding bids, manage and evaluate new and existing vendors, negotiate contracts and sourcing agreements. Lead and direct the work of purchasing buyers, senior buyers, and supervisors to ensure all resources are delivered on time for company operations.

Additional responsibilities include:

  1. Draft, explain, and implement work instructions, purchasing policies, and department procedures in alignment with Mettler Toledo global procedures.
  2. Launch competitive biddings, analyze proposals, and make sourcing and awarding decisions for new and existing vendors.
  3. Negotiate and implement long-term agreements and contracts with suppliers and external contractors.
  4. Track team’s Key Performance Indicators, update performance trackers, and assign actions to align strategies with department goals.
  5. Develop new vendors and evaluate potential suppliers in collaboration with Quality and end-user areas.
  6. Create individual development and training plans for team members.
  7. Collaborate with Planning to secure production demand and scheduling, ensuring necessary resources are met.
  8. Track and register hard savings and cost avoidance initiatives in the Stern drive report.
  9. Conduct purchasing cycles for Capex-CARs (Capital Assets Requirements).
  10. Reconcile weekly reports of Open Orders and Open Requisitions.

Minimum requirements include:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business, international relations, trade, logistics, supply chain management, or engineering.
  2. Over 10 years of experience in manufacturing industries managing and procuring materials with local and international vendors.
  3. APICS CPIM Certification, KARRASS effective negotiation training, ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification.
  4. Financial acumen and understanding of logistics.
  5. Experience with Incoterms, trade & compliance, and ERP systems (especially cloud platforms like SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
  6. Valid visa to enter the United States.
