Job summary

Corning is seeking a Purchasing intern to support the Purchasing and Supply Chain team in daily administrative tasks. This role provides hands-on exposure to purchasing processes, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The intern will learn about internal purchasing systems, materials, and product flows while contributing to meeting preparation and follow-up activities.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial or Administrative Engineering.
• English proficiency: 70% spoken & written.
• Currently pursuing a relevant degree.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and operational support to the Purchasing and Supply Chain team.
• Run and maintain reports required to support daily operations and decision-making.
• Support the preparation and follow-up of information required for meetings.
• Participate in meetings alongside the supervisor and other team members, as required.
• Learn and understand internal purchasing and supply chain processes, systems, materials, and products.
• Support follow-up activities related to purchasing and material requirements.
• Collaborate with the Planning, Receiving and Shipping teams.
• Maintain communication and coordination with Production as an internal customer.
• Support Purchasing transactions in accordance with Corning policies and procedures.
• Perform other activities assigned by the supervisor according to business and departmental needs.
